Background
Idhammar Systems' experience goes back over 30 years, originating in Sweden where the MMS company was founded by Borje and his brother Christer Idhammar, both highly respected pioneers of the maintenance industry.
The company developed a CMMS that was implemented for the major Scandinavian timber, paper and shipping industries - and was soon sought after by a wide range of industries throughout the world.
The core Idhammar software development company has traded internationally under a number of brand names and with a network of partners over its history - all the while retaining the same businesses practices and integrity that its customers value.
With the acquisition of a new specialism - Overall Equipment Effectiveness Software and Consultancy - and a change of name to herald the diversification of products, Idhammar Systems is now operating with a diverse team of systems specialists for maintenance and manufacturing industries worldwide.
Milestones
1971
Idhammar Konsult AB founded in Sweden by the Idhammar brothers, consulting on maintenance management practices in the Scandinavian timber, paper and shipping industries.
1980
Idhammar Konsult partnered with TSL, a Swedish IT house, to develop a Computerised Maintenance Management System. IBM Specialist, Informatikk, joined the partnership, offering CMMS solutions in Norway.
1985
Idhammar Management Systems Limited established in the UK as the !company's product centre with IPR ownership, headed up in Bristol by a team of specialist software developers.
1990
Partnerships formed with CEE and LA&SS (IBM specialists); agents now operating from the UK, Sweden, Norway, Belgium and the Netherlands, providing services globally to an enviable client portfolio.
1995
Frontec UK Limited formed when Idhammar Management Systems UK operation was acquired by Frontec, operating in Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
1996
Frontec acquired API PRO from SKF and acquired a PC based Maintenance Management System to compliment the IBM based Idhammar MMS.
2001
Frontec's Maintenance Systems division, headquartered in the UK, acquired COMAC, diversifying the company's CMMS portfolio.
2002
UK management buy out of Frontec's Maintenance Systems business stream - and company rebranded FMS Systems Ltd. MainMan System support arrangements were immediately put in place.
2003
FMS Systems maintenance software product portfolio consolidated - establishing Idhammar MMS as the star system amongst a number of supported legacy products.
2005
FMS Systems acquired Cdata - a company with an enviable reputation for OEE improvement programmes. The company's specialist OEE personnel joined forces with Idhammar Systems, providing expertise to support Idhammar OEE
2006
Company re-branded Idhammar Systems Ltd to reflect the diversification of product offering - Idhammar MMS and Idhammar OEE
2007
With a growing and diverse workforce Idhammar Systems moved to a new headquarters with a training suite in the heart of Bristol.
2008
Idhammar MMS Version 8 launched and Idhammar OEE Version 6 scheduled for worldwide release.
Established thought leaders for Lean Manufacturing and Maintenance, Idhammar Systems is presenting papers at Conferences, Masterclasses and trade events throughout 2008.
