Asset Management
Asset Management in this context is not referring to the financial context of acquisitions and mergers, instead we refer to the term used by infrastructure or plant owners and operators in caring for, and making best sustained use of physical plant, infrastructure and associated facilities.
The word that is often used in Asset Management is "optimised", the balance of fully exploiting an asset today (generally undertaken by production or operations), while ensuring that its use is sustainable in the future (generally the responsibility of maintenance and engineering). The requirement for optimised asset management is a strategic imperative in order to minimise risk and ensure regulatory or customer compliance.
Assets often contain multiple modules, as well as specific components – each requiring their own maintenance schedule. A CMMS, like Idhammar MMS, is a repository of information on all of these assets (modules, and components) and delivers the toolkit to support the business focus on asset optimisation by providing balanced maintenance schedules, real-time information and a secure audit trail.
The Idhammar MMS offers an unlimited asset hierarchy to identify and monitor all assets within your organisation. For each asset, users can decide whether performance reporting is required and set appropriate parameters. View information and costs of individual or groups of assets in a hierarchy with details including:
- Unique identifier
- Location
- Text
- Type
- Supplier & model details
- Target performance
- Cost centre
- Bill of Materials
- Technical Specification
